“Reaching Out Of Sight”*

The best about humanity is reaching out of sight.

The best about humanity is seeking out the light,                              Beyond wearying and searing, searching for the light.,                                  

                                                                                        

Probing unknown secrets in the darkness, without fright,                  

 Attacking with our energies, fears there, yet in spite,            

Beyond strife, or with a knife, ever seeking sight.

Hunger for believing, which path will be the right,                

 Spending human lifetimes in the direction of the bright,                              

  Ever searching, and researching, lighting up the night.                                              

Whether universe or microcosm, bring light into that night,                                                          Mysteries within us, reaching way beyond our height,        

 Our very nature drives us, and survives us, to be everything we might.

                                                          ​ Coming To Attention!   Life comes at us from all directions. The nitty-gritty of daily living demands our primary attention, earning a wage, satisfying the boss, meeting a partner’s needs, raising the kids when it’s your turn to show up and be a parent. Then there is the job of keeping up to date with all you need to learn just to do all that. It’s a wonder we take the time to eat and sleep. When do we pay attention to what is going on all around us outside the narrow horizons of our lives?                        SAFE AND SOUND Looking around lately it is difficult for anyone anywhere to proudly assert that they live in a place where they are truly “safe and sound”. There are countries with a de facto policy of spreading fear and terror wherever they can spread their tentacles. Countries like Iran, Russia and China are telling the world about their aims to take over other countries and even kill entire populations. Many countries are worrying about where the appetites’ of these countries will take them next. NATO is re-arming and adding new members.
