Who Is Afraid Of The
Big Bad Wolf?
I am. I’m afraid of the big bad wolf. Who
is he? It’s more like an ”it”! I’m afraid of the world-wide Jihadist movement
that has spread its tentacles far beyond its birthplace deep in the heart of
Arabia. Its strongest visible emanations are currently coming from Iran,
fostering it
with Qatar. It is deeply implanted in Isis, Islamic State, Al Qaeda, in Syria
and Iraq, HAMAS AND HISBULLAH in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.
(Paradoxically the U.S. and western Countries, and the UN, are financing
terrorism through UNRWA.)
Jihadism had its more recent origin in
Afghanistan’s struggle, first against Russia and later the U.S., in the person
of the Taliban. Its later evolution in Syria and Iraq devolved into a
competition, physically and philosophically, between Al Qaeda and the Islamic
State. While these groupings continue to
exist, and actually oppose existing Arab regimes, (and are the reason for a U.S.
presence,) currently, other Islamic parties have been organized using Israel as
their focus. These bodies are being mainly financed and led by Iran, (and historically,
Qatar,). They are using Hamas and
Hezbollah as their standard bearers. Their representatives are hard at work in
many places in the Arab world, with many supporters now implanted in western capitals.
With the
emigration of many followers of Islam to many western countries, the stage is
set for an impact on a street corner near you.
While many
of us are confused by the welter of different organizations in the mix, some
with different priorities and goals, we have to understand that all essentially
oppose western civilization as we know it, and aspire to Islamic hegemony on
this planet. Despite the efforts of many of the followers of Islam to adapt
their lives to western society, we have seen time and again that the agenda
often continues to be dictated by extremists, (and, often, Islamic clerics).
Those people want the lives of the followers
of Islam to follow the rules of Sharia, Islamic religious laws, some of which
are in direct conflict with the laws of the western countries they may be
inhabiting. Wherever they are, they put pressure on the authorities to modify
the rules of western society to minimize the clash between the systems. For
example, although we no longer say the Lord’s Prayer in our schools, separating
church and state, we now have prayer rooms in some schools in Ontario, Canada.
The problem most
often can arise when there are concentrations of followers of Islam in a
particular geographic area. Acitivists use political pressure, the power of
numbers, to disable the effective operation of the organs of the state. Normal
safe-quards disappear, moderates are cowed into submission to religious authorities
by physical threat that general community authorities ignore.
No-go zones are erected in the West where the
law of the land is no longer enforced, in London, Marseille, Stockholm and some
areas of Belgium, Germany and France. This is even appearing in Michigan. A
Canadian Imam was recorded in English urging Islamic followers into action
against “criminal Jews”. Islamic organizations like CAIR, based in the U.S., scream
about Islamophobia while attacks against Jews multiply by a thousand times
more. CAIR’s charitable status is being questioned as it is being accused of
being a front for jihadist terrorists and the like.
This cannot
help but impact our lives in the general society we strive to construct in a
positive way. These are the people who are asking us to accept that the actions
of the Gaza terrorists of Hamas on October 7 in Israel can be justified on any
grounds, that Palestine from the river to the sea can serve as a basis for
peace in the Middle East rather than the basis for the next Holocaust.
How many of
the young people chanting this jihadist slogan which is part of the Hamas
charter, understand what they are saying?
Now the
Palestinian Authority, which has jurisdiction in some parts of Israel, (Judea
and Samaria) under the Oslo Accords accepted by Israel, has invited Hamas to
become its successor. This is the P.A.’s proposed path to peace. This will
erase the Accords under which the P.A. derives its existence. The Hamas Charter
is in direct conflict with the Accord. Should such a merger occur the P.A would
no longer have legal basis and its observance could be cancelled by Israel.
How can any intelligent
person see a peaceful region without the total eradication of Hamas on Israeli
territory. Mr. Abbas, the president, indeed the P.A., has shown how unfit they
are to be part of any meaningful post-October 7th future in the
Middle East. They represent the past that we can hope fully wipe away to create
a brighter future for its inhabitants.
Yes, I am
afraid of the Jihadist wolf forcing a peaceful Islamic community into
radicalization and opposition to the western way of life and western values of
tolerance for the opinion of others. The promotion of violence is their “raison
d’etre”.
The peaceful
way forward, the Israel government model for the
future in Gaza has been outlined. Palestinian authorities are being established
to govern civil affairs in the areas where Hamas terrorists have been
eliminated. Friendly nations will be invited to participate in reconstruction.
The IDF will continue its responsibility to maintain overall security. UNRWA ,
which has been proven to operate as a vehicle of Hamas oppression will cease to operate in Gaza.
Yes, I am
afraid of the big bad wolf! Not only in Israel, but in our own backyard.
