“ What’s Up, Pussy Cat?”*

This jovial title is meant to tempt you, to entice you, to read on. In reality is that I’m blue about the world I inhabit at the moment .You are in the soup with me. Being Jewish, though, I am very much absorbed with world events impacting me, personally, along with members of my extended family, and the community I am a part of.

The war in Gaza is ongoing, IDF soldiers are dying, hopefully Hamas terrorist are too in much greater numbers, along with the civilians Hamas strives to place in harm’s way as their protective shields. The hostages that Hamas holds are suffering and dying too, women being raped on a daily basis. All this is going on and it’s with me all day, every day, and in my many sleepless nights .I am horrified by the reality of these events.

I am also horrified at what has happened in the United States. That so many in the Grand Old Party have made common cause with a common criminal, a lying lothario of indeterminate wealth, on the edge of bankruptcy based on the potential legal claims on his ill-gotten gains. The immorality shown by him and many of the Party’s leading lights, followers cowed by the criminal’s shocking hold on one-third of that Party’s followers, make me worry about America’s future. (And I weep for the loss of Canada’s moral integrity.)

We have been driven to despair when we viewed the weak-kneed response by the U.S. governing party to its many challenges. Most glaring, particularly has been the failure to act forcefully against Iran and its proxies. Now, at last, there has been some action that may discourage those who have been incentivized by the West’s failure to act. It remains to be seen whether it will prove sufficient to achieve its goals.

Involvement in a new war before an election has been making the Dems run scared. You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

And then I come to the rampant anti-Semitism that we are seeing around the world. I recognize that the Islamic Jihadists compact have sown the world with billions in bribes to implant their cohort in many western institutions. But the support they have gathered from among the general population is disheartening . Fifty years after the Holocaust, they are showing support for another Holocaust in Israel.

I still have hopes of a positive outcome. I believe Israel can eradicate Hamas in Gaza, but we may have to allow the worst of Hamas followers to escape as the price of liberating some of the hostages.  I believe the evil ones will ultimately be dealt with.

I believe that America will ultimately choose liberty over autocracy and rally the positive forces in the world to confront Iran and its allies, open and hidden. The struggle for the soul of America will have to continue to be fought for many years to come, but the rot is now clearly exposed. There are powerful forces for evil alive  here and in the world . A revitalized America is necessary to lead us in the struggle which awaits us.

We are now more aware of what we face and what we have at stake. It is nothing less than a struggle between autocracy and democracy. And we have false friends in our camp that need to be exposed.
